Here are a few frequently asked questions about gutters and downspouts.
Q. How much do new gutters cost?
A. Gutters cost between $3-$6 per foot depending on style, color and difficulty of the job. Most homes are around $1,000 for full replacement including downspouts.
Q. How long do gutters last?
A. If gutters are properly cleaned and maintained, they can last 40-60 years.
Q. Do you offer any kind of warranty?
A. We offer a materials warranty that guarantees the quality of metal materials for a period of 25 years after installation. In addition, we offer a labor warranty that guarantees against leaks and defects for a period of 10 years after installation.
Q. What is a downspout?
A. A downspout is a vertical pipe that carries water from roof level to ground level. Downspouts are typically installed at the corners of your home and carry water from the gutters to drainage areas. Without properly functioning downspouts, water can back-up and overflow from the gutters causing flooding and damage to your home’s siding and foundation.
Q. What gutter styles are available?
A. The most popular styles of gutter include K style (4K, 5K, 6K), fascia and curved fascia.
Q. What colors are available for gutters?
A. There are a wide range of colors available for your gutter project – We can do anything from a high gloss white to black and everything in between. Here is just a sample of colors that we provide. Ask our estimator for more color options.
Q. Do you provide free estimates?
A. Yes, estimates are always free! Our estimator will come out to your house to properly measure the job and discuss which gutter styles and colors will work for you and your budget and project.
Q. Do you clean gutters?
A. Yes, keeping your gutters cleaned and maintained is very important to prevent water back-up and leakage behind your siding and into your home’s foundation. We will clean gutters and downspouts, re-attach loose nails and make sure everything is flowing the way it should.
Q. How long will the gutter installation take?
A. Installation typically takes between 5-7 hours including tearing off old gutters, installing new gutters, and cleaning up the area.
Q. When should I have my gutters replaced?
A. Many home owners replace the roof and/or paint their home in addition to replacing the gutters. If this is the case, gutters should be installed after the roof installation and before the house is painted.
Q. Do I have to be home during the installation?
A. We don’t require that you are home when we install your new gutters, but it’s always a good idea to be close by when someone is working on your home.
Q. Can you fix existing problems with my gutters?
A. Yes, we will fix any existing gutter issues you have including sagging, loose and damaged gutters.
